Owner, JJ Martin—a Minnetonka native and graduate of Hopkins High School—developed a love for serving his community through construction and property maintenance during his high school years. He learned the skills his clients needed and never shied away from taking on new challenges. Over time, he built expertise in carpentry, landscaping, grading, drainage, staining, painting, planting, and more.

Great experience with JJ and his team. We discovered JJ and Walker Outdoor Solutions while walking around the neighborhood and decided to give him a call for our deck. Our deck needed new railings (safety hazard) and we wanted to simplify. After getting quotes for a new deck using Trax and a custom build no-deck, we hoped we could work with JJ with our existing structure. JJ listened, understood exactly what we needed, worked within our requirements and was patient with some going back and forth on details. The results are great and exactly what we expected. "We hired Walker Outdoor Solutions and JJ back in 2023 to replace a crumbling retaining wall in our backyard near our pool. It was a project that looked small but with the amount of old railroad ties to be removed, earth to be moved, plants to be moved and replanted and weight of stone to be brought in we knew it wouldn’t be an easy one. JJ was very responsive, provided a fair quote, scheduled us in without over promising on timeline (which I feel like can be a huge issue these days), and did a wonderful job ok the project! Going into the project we thought we knew what we wanted and JJ provided some suggestions that he thought would make it look nicer, these suggestions didn’t increase the price of our bid at all, and indeed it looks way better than we could have thought. 2 years later we still love our backyard retaining wall! We have sent JJs name to friends and family across the twin cities because he is attentive to his clients, is a very hard worker (especially for his age!) and does phenomenal work. Can’t wait to have him back for more projects!"
